The first year came with your purchase. This extends it by another year.
Use the email you bought with. The renewal attaches to your existing licence, and the renewed key appears right after checkout.
What happens if you do not renew
The version you have keeps working. Nothing is locked, and the licence does not expire. You simply do not receive versions released after your renewal period ends.
The test is the release date. Any version released before your renewal expires works whenever you install it. Renew again later and you start receiving the newest versions from that point on.
